The class offers a space to reconnect with the body and rediscover ourselves through movement. A place for exploration and play, where participants can discover new ways of expressing themselves, recognizing their potential and the many possibilities the body offers as a creative tool.
Rather than teaching a specific way of moving, the sessions are conceived as a space for sharing and transmitting tools. Through guided exercises and improvisation, participants are offered starting points that open up multiple possibilities for exploration, play, and experimentation. These proposals encourage the discovery of an available body—one that can surprise itself and transform—allowing movement to emerge from a personal, unique, and authentic place.
From this perspective, the aim is to support the group’s creative process by nurturing bodies that are open, curious, and present. The goal is not to achieve a specific form, but to deepen listening, presence, and enjoyment of movement, creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where everyone can explore, play, and express themselves through the authenticity of their own body.
Led by
Iris is a dancer, creator, performer, and graphic designer. She trained independently in various movement disciplines at different dance centres in Barcelona before completing the Professional Programme in Contemporary Dance and Creation at AREA, Espai de Dansa i Creació. Driven by an ongoing curiosity for movement and creative processes, she continues her education through regular training sessions and workshops with national and international artists and teachers.
She is a founding member of Cia. El Desvío, where she works as a creator and performer on several productions supported by Dansa Metropolitana Festival, L’Estruch, l’Antic Teatre, SAT! Teatre, and BDC (Barcelona Districte Cultural), among others. She is also a co-founder of the European project Lights on Stage, Dance and Creation +60, hosted by creation centres such as Nunart, La Caldera, AREA – Espai de Dansa i Creació, Nau Ivanow, Espai 30, and La Unió Santcugatenca.
Alongside her artistic practice, Iris has an extensive background as a graphic designer, art director, and design project coordinator. She is currently responsible for design and communications at Nunart and collaborates on projects with APdC (Associació de Professionals de la Dansa de Catalunya). She combines her work as a creator and performer with teaching and graphic design projects connected to the field of dance.
