Itineràncies showcase: alina sokulska i Renée Carmichael

Itineràncies is a cycle of dance showcases organized by nunart with the aim of fostering spaces for visibility and encounters between people and their creative processes, and an audience we understand as situated, interconnected, and creative. A perspective on showcases as spaces for research where different journeys can be shared. In this edition we will see:

THE BOOK OF SAND — alina sokulska
An interdisciplinary proposal inspired by Jorge Luis Borges’ short story The Book of Sand. Drawing from Borges’ tale, which describes an infinite book with endlessly multiplying pages, the work offers a choreographic interpretation grounded in instant composition and the chance-based practice of geomancy as one of its creative methods.

The piece consists of a series of performances that engage with the concepts of identity and memory, understood as a repository of information that persists over time while remaining subject to reinterpretation, alteration, and forgetting.

EL PERRO DE LA CONCIENCIA — Renée Carmichael
During the residency at nunart, they will delve into the connections between computation, dance, sacred writing, dramaturgy, genuflection, and sanctification. A hacking of languages to undo the binary between body and technology and to propose other sensitive imaginaries of the present. They will once again become the prototype, questioning the voice of this character: one that does not bring all the light, is twisted and fragmented, and has no fixed identity. It will culminate in the presentation of the second act of their project: El perro de la conciencia (The Dog of Consciousness). An offering to the immeasurable.
