Trainings with Vlad Ion

The workshop aims to create a space for play, listening, and sensitivity, where new pathways can be explored both physically and imaginatively. The goal is to awaken a body that is available, articulated, attentive, and rhythmically rich, one that is intrigued by moving from presence and curiosity.

Through individual and group improvisation tools, participants will be invited to investigate new routes within their own movement language, transitioning through different states and levels of awareness. The work will also include floorwork and acrobatics, approached from an accessible and organic perspective, along with exercises that foster spatial perception, expanding awareness of the body in relation to the environment and to others.

Vlad Ion’s first contact with dance was through breaking, which he began practicing autodidactically in the city of Bilbao. Over time, he nourished his movement vocabulary with different styles such as hip hop, house, and popping, training both nationally and internationally. In parallel, he developed a growing interest in contemporary dance, which led him to complete the professional programs “Varium” and “Free Bodies” in Barcelona, where he currently resides.

After finishing his training, he began his professional career as a performer in various companies, including Nadine Gerspacher, Clémentine Télesfort & Lisard Tranis, Los Informalls, Vero Cendoya, and Toni Mira.

He has also developed his own creative path, giving rise to works such as Shalott (with Guillem Batlle), St.Earnest (with Nadine Gerspacher), I HOPE (a piece choreographed for the Hanami collective), and Me lo hice yo mismo, his current solo project.

At the same time, he continues to develop his teaching practice, giving classes and workshops in various centers and training programs such as Varium, Free Zone, B12, FMR Arles, the Contemporary Dance Association of Sabadell, and Area Danza.
