Yoga Intensive with Martha Echavarría: Purnam

“This is the whole, that is the whole, this is the whole, and even if we take this whole away from that whole, what remains is still the whole.”

Purnam is a Sanskrit word meaning fullness; it refers to an integrity that does not depend on anything else, a fullness that does not recognize lack; in Purnam, the full remains and does not die.

Led by

Marha Echavarria. From a very young age, life has guided me along the path of movement—dance, yoga, and medicine—and it continues to do so. I follow with gratitude, integrating profound learnings along the way. Today, I am still amazed by all that I have journeyed through, and even more by the path that still lies ahead.

I am a teacher and practitioner of Hatha Yoga, Iyengar, Anusara, and Kundalini Yoga. I am a drama teacher, a professional dancer, a graduate in contemporary dance, and an actress. I am also an instructor of Pilates, both on machines and mat. I hold a degree in Arts Education and a Master’s degree in Dance Movement Therapy.

Over the years, I have worked as a professional dancer with Imago Danza Contemporánea and other companies. I have also been a university lecturer at the University of Medellín, EAFIT University, and the University of Antioquia. Additionally, I have taught in academies and institutions dedicated to movement and dance such as Área and nunart Guinardó.

As a dancer, choreographer, and assistant choreographer, I have worked with artistic director Franco Dragone and the Dragone Entertainment Group.
