Weaving connections between nunart, dance, the school, and the neighborhood.
“Sincronies” is the set of collaboration, meeting, and listening activities between nunart and other organizations and projects. These activities take place both at nunart and in other locations. Some sincronies are occasional, while others become regular projects, such as collaborations with educational centers in the neighborhood and the city.
The main objective is to create spaces for encounter and exchange, fostering network-building within the community through the social, transformative, cohesive, and creative power of dance.

sincronies nunart ∞ schools
This project contributes to the development of the artistic, cultural, social, and civic competencies of primary and secondary school students.
We do this in three different formats: a workshop format, a performance format, and a third one —the Dance and Creation Project— carried out in collaboration with the Resource Center, the Educational Service of Horta-Guinardó, and the Horta-Guinardó District.
At nunart, we offer a proposed format, but we work with each school collaboratively, adapting to their needs, availability, and interests. We are flexible in order to adjust to the particularities of each group, offering a personalized proposal.

1. Workshop format
Sincronies Schools accompanies preschool, primary, and secondary students in developing their artistic, cultural, social, and civic competencies through dance and creation.
We carry it out in two different formats:
Taster Format
- 1 session of 1h or 1h 30min at the nunart space
- We discover what dancers do, explore body creativity, and create a small group choreography.
- Possibility of including a short dance performance with professionals, inviting the students to engage in a dialogue with the artists.
Extended Format
- 3 one-hour sessions to explore dance from different perspectives:
Dance and music
Dance and materials (visual arts)
Creative dance (physical education) - Possibility of including a short dance performance with professionals, inviting the students to engage in a dialogue with the artists.
- Session/workshop for teachers to introduce creative dance in the classroom. Designed to take place before the sessions with students, providing pedagogical tools and continuity for the project.
Who is it for?
- Preschool, primary, and secondary schools (ages 3 to 16).
- Teachers and educational teams interested in movement, creativity, and artistic expression.
When and where?
Activities take place during school hours.
Space: in the Sala Gran at nunart — 300 m², 10 m high ceilings, linoleum floor.
Ideal for group activities and movement-based projects.
It is also possible to hold the sessions at the school itself, depending on availability.
Team
Teachers: Gisela Creus, Triny Reinoso, Berta Hernández, Ona Mestre, and Paula Planas.
Musician: Pablo Arias.
Participating schools (since 2022): FEP Mare de Déu de Montserrat, Escola del Mar, Escola de les Aigües, Centre d’Estudis Roca, Escola Teixidores, Escola Parc del Guinardó, among others.

2. Performance format
This format consists of attending nunart to see “On a Summer Night”, a contemporary dance piece created especially for young audiences.
It is a 30-minute contemporary dance piece aimed at children, performed by a trio composed of two dancers and a musician. Through games of light and shadow, projections, and a combination of rhythms and live music, the scenography and the performers’ movements intertwine to transport the audience into a dreamlike, magical state.
The material on stage connects with the pedagogical proposals shared with children during the school workshops, establishing a link between the stage experience and the previous work done in the classroom. The performance invites the audience to journey through the senses and encourages active participation, as the audience contributes to the creation of the live soundscape.
This piece has been conceived from the perspective and sensitivity of children, and for this reason, interaction is fully integrated and welcomed at all times. At the end of the performance, there is a conversation and Q&A session with the performers and the director, offering a space for dialogue and reflection.
This format can be linked to the workshop format — enriching the experience with a prior practice — or presented independently as a performance.
Synopsis
On summer nights, in the garden of my grandparents’ house, magical things happen. Fireflies shine and dance in the dark, lighting up the entire space. The clothes hanging on the line come to life during this evening. The shirts can’t resist the urge to dance… Meanwhile, we discover that there are tiny magical creatures that you can only see if you move very carefully and silently—otherwise: Poof! They disappear!
Will we manage to see any tonight? What other mysteries will we uncover? We invite you to join Pablo, Gisela, and Sofia on this adventure, where through live music, dance, and imagination, we’ll experience the surprising things that happen while everyone is asleep at home…

3. Dance and Creation Project
he Dance and Creation Project is carried out in collaboration with the Resource Centre, the Horta-Guinardó Educational Service, and the Horta-Guinardó District. It is a one-off project that has so far been implemented in three editions: two in the Guinardó neighborhood and one in the Montbau neighborhood.
This project takes place at nunart, in educational centers, or in community spaces, with the participation of several schools working together to create a choreographic piece based on a previously agreed theme.
The aim is to work across various artistic expressions—such as dance, music, poetry, visual arts, theatre, and body expression—promoting creativity and collaboration among students while engaging them in a collective creative process.
The sessions culminate in a closing event, where the four class groups from the three participating schools present their creation in a public neighborhood space, which families are invited to attend.
Project Structure
- Teacher session: 1 session for the teachers of the four participating schools.
- Dance and creation workshops: 2 sessions per class group, exploring different artistic expressions through dance.
- General rehearsal: 1 rehearsal per class group to prepare for the final presentation.
- Final presentation and closing event: The class groups showcase their creations in a public space in the neighborhood, inviting families and the community to attend.
Participating Schools:
Estel Guinardó, Torrent d’en Melis, FEP Mare de Déu de Montserrat, Arc Iris, Mas Casanovas, Parc del Guinardó, Baloo, Els Pins, Mare de Déu de Montserrat, Folch i Camarasa, among others.
Funded by the Horta-Guinardó District.
